Project description
Food and tourism are key strategic sectors for ADRIA FOOTOURING regions. They are often considered as traditional sectors with a low innovation potential. But technological, organizational, service innovations, supported by enabling technologies such as ICT, are fundamental for regional economic growth and innovation. Regions involved in ADRIA FOOTOURING are more or less provided with these innovation support systems. The general objective of ADRIA FOOTOURING is to boost innovative capacity of traditional sectors such as tourism and food, by improving the innovation environment where existing and new SMEs are operating.
What has been done during the project in order to achieve its main goal(s)?
The partnership carried out a program of tutoring and mentoring activities to transfer practical knowledge and best practices from one partner region to another, particularly from experienced to less experienced partners, with the innovation as key topic. Scientific expert advice enriched the tutoring program presenting concepts and experiences following a very practical approach.
After this important activities that focused on knowledge exchange, the partnership carried out a pilot initiative to offer supporting instruments and services to tourism and food SMEs to innovate. Partners realized a transnational Virtual Incubator composed of a wide set of information and training tools : business stories, innovation bank, financing opportunities, regional resources , legal help, marketing idea, training modules and entrepreneurs corner. Thanks to this common important instrument stakeholders have expanded their fields of intervention and reinforced knowledge, innovation capability and access to business opportunities.
Which are the project main results/impacts?

N° 1 Virtual Incubator for SMEs “AdriaIncubator” developed with cross-border partners, developing opportunities and support for implementing innovation for SMEs.

- 30 SMEs assisted in innovation process implementation.
