PACINNO has been a project aimed at establishing a platform for cooperation in research and innovation covering the whole Adriatic region. Targeting research institutions, policy makers and business entities, the project helped to develop new bridges between research and scientific activities carried out in academic institutions and in the economic system, with specific reference to the technological needs of SMEs. To this end, PACINNO has combined research activities with direct interventions in the local innovation systems.
What has been done during the project in order to achieve its main goal(s)?
Several activities have been carried out in order to achieve the project’s results, involving universities, research centers, new companies and SMEs.
In detail: 5 research activities have been supported; 13 university/research centers have been involved; 1.190 SMEs and 203 new companies have been assisted; 253 people participated in joint education or training activities.
Which are the project main results/impacts?
RESEARCH ON INNOVATION at the micro-level (firm-level) has been carried out
INNOVATION SYSTEM MAPS at the country and Adriatic region level have been developed (www.adriaticinnovationmaps.eu)
A TRAINING PLATFORM that provided scientists from each participating country with managerial skills has been created
HIGH-TECH START-UPS has been promoted and training to would-be entrepreneurs has been provided
TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OFFICES in each country have been established, in order to promote innovative entrepreneurship in the region.
Concrete INNOVATION POLICY PROPOSALS to the policy-makers of the region have been generated
