Three days devoted to Sustainable Tourism: the International AdriaWealth Convention  gathered  its partners, including Puglia Region, Teatro Pubblico Pugliese and many other International agencies and organizations from Saturday 10 to Monday 12 September in Puglia ( Italy).

The event focused on sustainable tourism with round tables, workshops, gatherings and network meetings with the project’s partners and a number of Italian and international guests. For three days the stakeholders of creative and cultural enterprises, of tourism and policymakers from Puglia, from other Italian regions and other countries, together with Apulian operators, were involved in a fruitful exchange of know-how and best practices in a cross-innovation and social-innovation approach.

The convention started on Saturday 10 September in Monopoli with Aldo Patruno, Director of the Department of Tourism, Culture Economics and Territorial Enhancement of Puglia Region, and Carmelo Grassi, President of Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, and presentations of best practices from partners. Works went on with the workshop “Creativity and project planning for the development of sustainable tourism in the Adriatic-Ionian Area”, hosted by Francesco Cascino and Michele Trimarchi. In the evening, the screening of the short film “Le pareti di vetro”, produced by Apulia Film Commission within the project “ArTVision”.

On Sunday participants moved to Lecce for a visit of the MUST- Museo Storico Città di Lecce and of Teatro Koreja, where the second session of the creativity workshop was scheduled. At the end, in the presence of Loredana Capone, Minister of Economic Development, Tourist and Cultural Industry of Puglia Region, the representatives of 11 theatres  signed an agreement for the creation of a Network of Theatres in the  Adriatic Ionian region. Following, the participatory perfomance “Il pasto della tarantola”, by Cantieri Teatrali Koreja.

On Monday the convention  gathered  in the Fiera del Levante of Bari for the Open Days Local Event “Capitalizing within the EUSAIR:  the opportunities of European Territorial Cooperation for Pillar IV “Sustainable Tourism”, organized by Puglia Region, with the participation of Michele Emiliano, President of Puglia Region and Mirela Kumbaro,  Albanian Minister of Culture. An agreement for cooperation in the field of tourism between Puglia Region and Albania was signed on the occasion.

In the afternoon the appointment was at the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Pino Pascali in Polignano a Mare, where the final session of the creativity workshop took  place together with the presentation of the “Network of Museums”, signed by 8 museums and cultural organizations of the Adriatic region.
